Information

In the more than thirty-five years of its existence, the foundation has contributed approximately 51,5 million euros to co-financing some 830 exhibition, publication, and acquisition projects.

We support institutions of international renown in Hesse’s major cultural centres as well as smaller institutions in metropolitan areas and rural regions whose dedication represents no less valuable a contribution to the state’s rich cultural and educational offers.

In its scope, the foundation’s funding programme corresponds to the diversity of Hessian institutions’ undertakings in terms of both content and artistic approach. We support projects revolving around applied and fine arts with a wide range of expressive forms—from installation and sculpture to painting, printmaking, and drawing to multimedia works and photography. The projects we fund arise from subjects of cultural-historical and art-historical interest as well as from issues of relevance to present-day society.
