Location and local art scene

The residence, which belongs to the foundation, is located in the Bow district in the east of London. Acme Artists Studios manages the house, provides on-site support to the grant recipients, and helps them connect with art institutions and artists. Grant recipients thus have access to all the resources of one of the UK’s most important studio providers. Prominent galleries such as Whitechapel and Chisenhale are located in the neighbouring districts of Hoxton, Hackney, and Bethnal Green where the young art and culture scene has taken root in recent years. London’s East End thus offers a dense ecosystem of studios, galleries, project spaces, and a vital emerging artists’ scene.
